What is included, room by room
If we can see it, we clean it.
Kitchen
- Cupboard doors and handles, degreased
- Worktops, hob and the front of the oven
- Everything on the worktops: kettle, toaster, tea, coffee and sugar pots, cleaned and put back
- Sticky rings under jars wiped away
- Outside of the fridge and appliances
- Skirting boards, bins and floors
Bathrooms
- Toilet scrubbed properly, not just a brush round
- Limescale off taps, shower heads and plug holes
- Shower screens, water marks gone
- Removable shower plugs lifted out and cleaned
- Sink, bath, tiles and mirrors
- Floors, skirting and door
Bedrooms and living rooms
- Ceiling to floor: cobwebs and corners first
- Blinds, window sills and the tops of curtains
- Doors, including the dusty panels
- Skirting boards and light switches
- Polish on surfaces, so dust does not settle straight back
- Beds changed if there is time in your booking
- Hoovering throughout
Hallways, stairs and landings
- Banisters and spindles
- Stairs hoovered edge to edge

Extras you can add
If a small job fits in your booked time, we just do it. Bigger jobs are added on at the same hourly rate.
- Inside the fridge or freezer. Best if it is emptied first.
- Inside kitchen cupboards. Please empty them first so your time goes on cleaning.
- Inside windows. Priced on time, depending on how many.
- Laundry. Washing on, moved to the dryer or hung out, within your booked time.
- Ironing. Done in your home within your booked time. See our ironing page.
- Bed changing. No extra charge if it fits in your booked time.
What we do not do
We would rather be honest now than let you down later. These are not part of our service yet:
- Inside ovens
- Carpet, sofa and upholstery cleaning
- Curtain or steam cleaning
- After builders cleans
- Biohazards, serious mould, pests or unsafe hoarding
- Work at height or moving heavy furniture
How it works
- Book a free visit. Use the booking form, or call, text or WhatsApp 07830 089750. We reply within 24 hours.
- We come round. We see your home, hear what matters to you, and give you a clear price there and then. No obligation.
- We agree a fixed price. Either we recommend what your whole home needs, or you tell us your budget and we do as much as possible within it. You get a fixed weekly, fortnightly or monthly price.
- The first clean. This is usually the longest, because we are dealing with build up. Skirting boards might need scrubbing the first time and just a dust after that.
- Your regular visit. Same cleaner, same day, same standard, at the fixed price we agreed at your visit.
Your products or ours
We normally use your products and your hoover, because you know what suits your floors and surfaces. Some people love bleach and some cannot stand it. Some wooden units should never see polish. If you would rather we brought everything, just ask.
Unless you tell us otherwise, we lean towards products that leave your home smelling fresh. Part of the joy is opening the front door and knowing it has been cleaned.

If something that was part of your clean was missed, tell us within 24 hours and we will come back and put it right free of charge, usually within 48 hours. We would much rather fix it than have you quietly disappointed.
Questions people ask
What is included in a regular clean?
Everything you can see, from ceiling to floor. That includes skirting boards, cupboard doors and handles, limescale, shower screens, the things on your worktops and the panels on your doors. Our rule is simple: if we can see it, we clean it. Inside ovens, cupboards and fridges are extras.
Do I need to provide cleaning products?
We normally use your own products and equipment, because you know what suits your home and your surfaces. If you would rather we brought everything, just tell us and we will.
Will I get the same cleaner every time?
Yes. Right now that is Georgina, who founded Sparkle & Press. As we grow, every customer will have their own regular cleaner, and you will see who they are before they arrive.
Do I need to be at home?
No. Many customers give us a key or leave one in a key safe. We lock up and post keys back through the door if that is what you prefer. If money or valuables are left out when we arrive, they are exactly where you left them when we go.
What if I am not happy with the clean?
Tell us within 24 hours. If something that was part of your clean was missed or not done properly, we will come back and put it right free of charge, usually within 48 hours.
Is bed changing extra?
No, not if it fits in your booked time. We already change beds for lots of customers as part of their visit. We do not charge for every small thing.
