Sparkle & Press is a local cleaning and ironing company based in Cheshunt. We clean houses, flats and the communal areas of blocks of flats in Cheshunt, Broxbourne, Hoddesdon, Goffs Oak, Cuffley, Nazeing and Roydon. One off and ad hoc cleans are £20 an hour. For a regular service, we visit for free and agree a fixed weekly, fortnightly or monthly price for your home. Ironing can be done in the same visit.
A proper clean, not a surface clean
I once covered a clean for a lady who had a cleaner every fortnight. There was limescale all round her shower. I pulled out the removable shower plug and it was full of hair. Every fortnight, and nobody had looked.
That is the difference. Anyone can run a cloth over the obvious surfaces. If you are paying someone to clean your home, you should be able to see and feel the difference when you walk back in.
Our rule is simple. If we can see it, we clean it.

How much does a cleaner cost with Sparkle & Press?
One off, ad hoc and irregular cleans are £20 an hour with a 2 hour minimum. For a regular, consistently booked service, we come and see your home for free and agree a fixed weekly, fortnightly or monthly price. Reset and deep cleans are £20 an hour, with the hours agreed at the visit.
Which areas do you cover?
Cheshunt, Broxbourne, Hoddesdon, Goffs Oak and Cuffley in Hertfordshire, plus Nazeing and Roydon in Essex. We also go towards Ware and Hertford Heath when we have other customers nearby on the same day.
Do you clean flats and communal areas?
Yes. We clean flats of every size, and we clean the communal areas of blocks of flats: entrance halls, stairs, landings, lifts and bin stores. Communal cleaning is quoted per visit after a free site visit, for landlords, managing agents and residents associations.
Do you do ironing as well as cleaning?
Yes. The Press in Sparkle & Press is ironing. We can do your ironing in your home as part of your booked cleaning time, at the same hourly rate. A standalone ironing service with fixed basket prices is launching soon, and you can register your interest now.
What is included in a regular clean?
Everything you can see, from ceiling to floor. That includes skirting boards, cupboard doors and handles, limescale, shower screens, the things on your worktops and the panels on your doors. Our rule is simple: if we can see it, we clean it. Inside ovens, cupboards and fridges are extras.
Do I need to tidy up before you arrive?
No. You do not need to clean for the cleaner. We are not there to judge, we are there to help. If your home has got away from you, a reset clean is exactly what it is for.
What if I am not happy with the clean?
Tell us within 24 hours. If something that was part of your clean was missed or not done properly, we will come back and put it right free of charge, usually within 48 hours.
